Amit turned the vehicle around and started driving in different direction.
I don’t know where he is taking me. He started taking me out of city. I just stopped thinking and trying to guess where he is taking me. He offered me some gum to refresh myself. I had the gum.
After a while, he stopped the vehicle and brought some biscuit packets inside and asked me to eat
Amit said “Neha. This will take a while”
He came to the back seat and started talking to me
He said “Neha dear. What are you going to do with this money?”
I said “Why Amit?”
He said “I am just trying to understand you”
I said “You know……..I have bills to pay, expenses to bear and EMIs to be cleared”
He said “and……what next? You already cleared this months’ bills and you have enough money to clear bills and EMIs of next 4-6 months”
I maintained silence.
He asked me “What’s your plan Neha? What will you do with all this money? If I bring you couple of more deals, you will have lot of money”
I said “I don’t know Amit”
Amit said “That’s the problem. Now I will take you somewhere”
I asked him where but he didn’t answer. He took some phone calls outside the car. He looked busy.
He drove for 30 minutes and we are in city outskirts. He took me to an apartment building. He took the keys from watchman outside. We got into the lift and he took me to the 5th floor. We went inside.
He opened the apartment door with keys. It’s a nice apartment. He opened the balcony door. We went outside. There was fresh air outside. He showed me the apartment.
I said “Amit, that’s a nice apartment you got”
He said “It’s not mine dear. It’s a girl’s apartment who is just like you”
He continued “She paid some upfront and is paying EMIs for this apartment. She another apartment in the same building. She bought this apartment just yesterday. She rented the apartment upstairs”
I said “How much this would cost Amit?”
He said “Rent or Buy?”
I said “Buy”
He smiled and said “You are asking the right questions now Neha dear. It’s around 50-60 lakhs because it’s outside the city”
He said “If you want an apartment like this, you got to pay that much”
I said “How Amit?”
Amit said “Get a loan my dear”
I said “From where?”
He said “Of course Bank my dear”
I said “Who will give me such loan?”
He said “I know people who can get you one. I can get in touch with one of my clients and get you the best deal”
I said “What’s in this for you?”
He said “5% commission of course”
I said “That’s too much Amit”
He said “Well too bad….”
I said “You brought me here so that you can tempt me into buying this?”
He said “Ok Tell me Neha. What will you do the money apart from investing it?”
I said “But Amit. That much cost is impossible to pay. How can I pay?”
Amit said “Pay 2 lakhs per month as EMIs and get 2 apartments here. Rent these apartments. You live in the middle of city by paying rent. In 5 years, two apartments are yours”
I said “Why two?”
Amit said “Come on Neha. You want only one?”
I smiled.
I said “So Amit. I could buy a car instead of 2nd apartment”
He said “What would be the worth of that car after 5 years my dear?”
