Incest

Three Mothers, One Secret

Near the end he had Kalpana on her back again, legs wide, the thigh-mole shining, and the other two women holding her knees open for the camera. He fucked her slow enough that every sound was clear. She looked at the lens once — not at a son, not at a house, only at the machine — and asked him not to stop. Kavita licked where their bodies joined. Sunita said, very low, usko de, and Kalpana came with her mouth open on Sunita’s shoulder.

Keshav closed nothing.

The laptop fan was loud. His own breath was louder. The pious image of the three courtyards lay on the floor of the 2BHK like a torn envelope. He had come into the room to defend a mother and had stayed to watch her ask for more, and then to watch the other two mothers ask with her, and the defence had nowhere left to stand.

He sat in Vivek’s chair with the last frame still up — four bodies, three marriage-marks, one man — and the key to the flat cold in his pocket, and understood that locking the door for the warden would not lock any of this back inside the machine.

He did not open another video first.

He opened the recordings.

The earliest file was ordinary in a way that made the later ones worse. A phone ringing in a quiet afternoon. Kalpana’s voice as the gali knew it — even, measured, asking whether Thursday still suited. Vivek answered like a man confirming a slot. She spoke of a relative’s house as cover. She asked if the place was discreet. She said her husband would be at the factory till late. Nothing in that first minute belonged to a bed. Keshav’s throat tightened on the familiarity alone.

The next file was Kavita. Kitchen noise under her words. She laughed once, then dropped the laugh, and asked whether “the boy” was free Saturday because Rohan’s father had a dealer meeting in Jaunpur. She said she could not stay the night. She said she did not want talk. Vivek said two hours. She said two hours was not a joke if the money was real.

Sunita’s first call was shortest. No laugh. A time. A hotel initial near Cantonment. She asked whether he understood married. He said he understood premium.

Then the deal call.

All three numbers on one conference, the sound slightly hollow, as if they were in different rooms of the same afternoon. Vivek named the figure without theatre.

Fifty thousand.

For three.

Location: a suite, not the 2BHK, not any gali-adjacent lodge. A place with a separate entrance and staff who did not look at faces.

Kalpana spoke first after the number. Her voice had already left the courtyard.

“Theek hai. Ek saath. Koi naam nahi. Koi phone ghar pe nahi.”

Kavita cut in, breath closer to the mic.

“Paisa pehle. Hum dekh ke aayengi. Agar maza aaya to yeh ek baar ka nahi rahega. Regular.”

Sunita said, “Husband logon se jo milta hai woh bed nahi hai. Wahan so jaate hain. Yahan time ke hisaab se kaam hona chahiye.”

Then they talked the way women talk when the door is already mentally locked.

Kalpana said she liked to be taken after she had been made to ask. She said at home no one made her ask. She said her husband’s hands knew the house and not her body. She said she wanted a mouth between her legs until she forgot the kitchen clock. She said if the night was good she would come again without being persuaded.
