Secret of the Gatepass – 2

Deep whispered in Mayuri’s ear – “Why, what happened? Didn’t you like my brother?”
Mayuri – “No, it’s not like that.”
Deep – “Then go to him and talk! I’m coming right now.”
Saying this, Deep went into the kitchen. Mayuri was standing in front of me while I was seated on the sofa. I stood up and held Mayuri’s hand – she trembled violently. She lowered her eyes. When her hand came into mine, it felt as if I had picked up a delicate flower.
Me – “Don’t you like me? If you say so, I’ll leave right now.”
Mayuri – “When did I say that!”
Hearing this reply, my heart swelled with joy. Holding her hand, I made her sit on the sofa and sat close beside her, practically sticking to her. Her hand was still in mine; she made no attempt to pull it away. Holding her hand, I said to Mayuri – “Ever since I saw you, I’ve started wanting you. You’re extremely beautiful.”
Hearing my words, she looked towards me but said nothing. Her eyes were telling me that she too had started liking me.
Gently pressing her hand, I said – “Say something at least?”
Before Mayuri could speak, Deep returned to the room carrying tea and she fell silent mid-sentence.
Then the three of us drank tea. Teasing Mayuri, Deep said – “Did you two talk at all or are you both just sitting quietly like this?”
Hearing Deep’s words, Mayuri lowered her gaze and started fiddling with the carpet on the floor with her toe, saying nothing.
Seeing her remain silent, Deep asked me – “Brother, did you talk or not?”
I told Deep – “I had just started and then you came. I had asked her something but she went quiet because of you.”
“Oh really? Now she’s feeling shy in front of me?” Deep said, dramatically widening her eyes.
Deep then told me – “Brother, do one thing – take her to the upstairs room and talk there. But do it quickly, in case Mom comes back. Though it will take her at least an hour to return.”
I asked Deep – “If aunty comes, what will you say?”
Deep told Mayuri – “Do this: take some of my books with you. If Mom comes, I’ll say you didn’t understand something and brother came, so I asked him to explain it to you.”
I also found Deep’s idea somewhat reasonable. Then Deep took out a few books, handed them to Mayuri and said – “Go now, and talk more openly!”
Mayuri’s cheeks had turned red with shyness. Then I took Mayuri along with me to the upstairs room.
Once upstairs, I took the books from Mayuri’s hands and placed them on the bed. We were both still standing. Holding her hand and looking into her eyes, I said – “You didn’t give me an answer?”
It was as if she hadn’t even heard me; she stood silently. Seeing her standing quietly, I said to Mayuri – “If you’re going to remain silent like this, then I’m leaving.”
As soon as I turned to go, Mayuri grabbed me, pressed herself against my chest, and wrapped both her arms around my waist. Suddenly she began kissing my cheeks.
I was stunned by this unexpected attack. I hadn’t expected such boldness from Mayuri, but now I was extremely happy because by kissing my cheeks she had given me her answer. No one had ever given me a better reply than this.
Mayuri had expressed her love in a very unique way. Then she rested her head on my chest and with her other hand began gently caressing my chest. I kissed her forehead and lifted her face with one hand. She closed her eyes. One of my hands was wrapped around her waist. I kissed both her eyes, then her forehead again.
By now she probably realized what was going to happen next, because her heartbeat started racing very fast. I could clearly hear her heart pounding. Her thin lips were quivering in rhythm with her heartbeat. I placed my lips over her trembling ones. Now the trembling of her lips stopped.
She held me so tightly with both hands as if saying – “Melt into me.” Then I took her lower lip between my lips and began drinking the nectar of her lips. What an intoxicating taste her lips had! It felt as though I had placed my lips on rose petals, and the taste was like sweet rasgullas.
I had been savoring her lips for barely ten minutes when I felt someone coming up the stairs. So I freed her lips from mine and whispered softly – “It seems someone is coming.”
Hearing this, she also clung to me tightly and tried to control her ragged breathing. Meanwhile, I quickly picked up a book so that if anyone saw us, it would look like I was teaching her.
We had just composed ourselves when Deepshikha appeared at the door. Seeing us both flustered, she burst out laughing. From the way Deep laughed, I realized everything was still fine.
Deep said to me – “Sorry brother! I disturbed you.”
I told Deep – “No problem, tell me?”
I was saying this to Deep, but inside I was very angry with her for coming at exactly that moment!
While I was thinking this, Deep’s voice reached my ears – “Brother, Mom had come just now.”
As soon as Deep said this, Mayuri and I panicked. I asked Deep – “Has aunty come back?”
Deep said – “She had come, but don’t worry. Mom went to the market with the neighbor aunty to buy some things. She just came to tell me and said she won’t be back for at least another two hours. So both of you can talk comfortably!”
Hearing Deep’s words, I felt relieved, and now happiness was visible on Mayuri’s face too.
Deep asked me – “Brother, did you talk to her or is she still feeling shy?”
Hearing Deep, Mayuri lowered her gaze again. I told Deep – “Yes, we talked a little, and some is still left.”
Deep said – “Okay, you talk. I have some household work to finish. I’m going!”
Saying this, she turned to leave, but then stopped as if she remembered something. Deep turned back towards us and said – “Sorry brother, I had to tell something to Mayuri, I completely forgot!”
Then she went close to Mayuri and whispered something very softly in her ear that I couldn’t hear. Whatever Deep said, it made Mayuri blush even more intensely. After saying what she wanted to say, Deep left downstairs just as she had come.
