They had crossed a border into an unknown land. A land that promised new pleasures, but was also not without peril.
But even though he knew this wouldn’t be their last visit there, he wasn’t afraid – because he also knew that whatever lay ahead, they’d face it together, and their love would get them unscathed through it all.
They would explore this new land together, and learn to navigate it, and they would discover new places within it.
They would find new desires within themselves, and new limits.
But not right now.
Right now he lay in their bed with his arms around her. And right now, that was enough.
The house was warm and safe. The quiet was calm. His last thought, before he drifted off into sleep, was that her body felt warm.
